Barbara Tran
Barbara Tran’s poetry and short fiction appear in Hamilton Arts & Letters, The Malahat Review, and The Paris Review. Earlier this year, Palimpsest Press released Barbara’s poetry collection Precedented Parroting. Barbara authored the titular character’s narration of Madame Pirate: Becoming a Legend, a short, virtual reality film, nominated for Best VR Story at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. A co-editor of Watermark: Vietnamese American Poetry and Prose, 25th Anniversary Edition (2023), Barbara is a member of AfroMundo, an arts and humanities collective, and She Who Has No Master(s), a collective of diasporic Vietnamese women and nonbinary writers and artists. Much of Barbara’s writing is conceived while walking, playing, or sharing a tasty morsel with one of her two rescue dogs.
