GARY BARWIN
is a writer, poet, composer, and multidisciplinary artist and has published twenty-five books of fiction and poetry. His national bestselling novel Yiddish for Pirates (Random House Canada, 2016) won the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour, the Canadian Jewish Literary Award, and was also a finalist for both the Governor General’s Award for Fiction and the Scotiabank Giller Prize. His latest book, Nothing the Same, Everything Haunted: The Ballad of Motl the Cowboy, was just released by Random House Canada. He was Sheridan College’s writer-in-residence 2020–2021.
